What a One-Hour Website Service Ticket Is Good For
What fits in one prepaid hour of website work, how to prep for it, and when to book a consult instead. Plus 20% off Nov 9 to Nov 15.
Most website problems are not big. They are small and annoying, and they sit on a to-do list for months. The hours are wrong. A button goes nowhere. The holiday banner from last year is still up. A form sends messages to an inbox nobody checks.
That is exactly what our Website Service Ticket is for. It is one prepaid hour of work on one website for $45, with a first response in 48 to 72 business hours. This post covers what fits in that hour, how to make it count, and when you need something bigger. It is also a good week to use one: from Monday, November 9 through Sunday, November 15, 2026, the Website Service Ticket and the paid website consultation are 20% off. The discount applies automatically at checkout, and the code FIXIT20 works as a fallback.
What fits in one hour
An hour goes further than most people expect when the request is clear. Good fits include:
- Content updates. New hours, prices, menu items, staff bios, service descriptions or contact details.
- Swapping images. Replacing outdated photos or a logo that changed.
- Seasonal changes. Adding or removing a promo banner, a holiday notice or an event announcement.
- Broken links and buttons. Finding where a link points and sending it to the right page.
- Small layout fixes. Spacing that looks wrong on phones, a section out of order, text that is hard to read.
- Form checks. Confirming where contact form messages go and testing that they arrive.
- Quick plugin or settings tweaks where the fix is known and contained.
What does not fit
An hour is an hour. Some jobs need more room, and it is better to know that up front:
- A full redesign or a new site.
- Building a new section or feature from scratch.
- Rewriting all the copy on the site.
- Diagnosing a problem with an unknown cause that may touch hosting, plugins and code all at once.
If you are not sure which side of the line your request falls on, that is what the consultation is for.
Ticket or consultation?
We offer two ways in, both covered on our website support page:
- Website Service Ticket ($45). You know what you want changed. We do the work.
- Paid consultation ($95, 45 minutes). You know something is not working, but not exactly what or why. We talk it through, look at the site together and map out the next steps.
A simple rule: if you can write the request as a to-do item, buy a ticket. If you need help figuring out what the to-do items are, book the consultation.
How to make your hour count
The biggest factor in how much gets done is how ready the request is. Before you submit, gather this:
- The exact page. Paste the URL, not just a description.
- What is there now and what it should say instead. Copy the new text into the request so nothing has to be guessed or retyped.
- Images and files. Attach new photos, logos or PDFs at the size you have them. We will handle the rest.
- Screenshots. If something looks broken, a screenshot with a note saves real time, especially if it only happens on a phone.
- Access. Make sure someone can provide login access to the site. Share credentials through a secure method, not in a public message.
- A priority order. If you have five things, rank them. If the hour runs out, the most important ones are already done.
Batch the small stuff
One of the best uses of a ticket is clearing out a list. Keep a running note of everything on your site that bugs you. When the list has a few items on it, send it in as one request. You get more done per hour, and your site stays current without a big project.
It is also a smart move before a busy season. If your hours change around the holidays, or you have a promotion coming up, get those changes in ahead of time instead of the night before.
When it is time for something bigger
If your list keeps growing, or the fixes keep pointing to the same underlying problem, a ticket may just be a patch. That is when it makes sense to look at a larger project. The consultation is a low-commitment way to find out, and you will leave with a clear picture either way.
