What we collect when you order or send us a brief, why we collect it, who sees it, and how to ask us to delete it.

Who we are
STS Media is a design, web and print-management studio operating from STS Media, 1427 East 36th Street, Suite 4203B, Cleveland, Ohio 44114. This policy explains what we collect through smellthesmoke.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions go to info@smellthesmoke.com.
What we collect
We collect only what a job or an order needs:
- Contact and project details you type into a form — name, business, email, phone, deadline, budget range and your description of the work.
- Order information when you buy — billing and shipping address, items, quantities and order totals.
- Artwork and files you upload for a print job.
- Technical data your browser sends automatically — IP address, browser type and pages viewed — used for security and to keep the site working.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your full card number. Card details are entered directly with our payment processors and are never held on this site. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
How we use it
To quote and deliver the work, to run and ship your order, to reply to what you asked, to send order and booking confirmations, to keep records we are required to keep, and to protect the site from abuse.
If you tick the optional updates box on a form, we may email you occasionally about STS Media. That box is never pre-ticked, and every such email has an unsubscribe link. Declining it does not affect your order.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to complete your work:
- Payment processors — PayPal and Square — who handle the transaction under their own privacy policies.
- Production partners who print and finish your order. They receive the artwork and the shipping address needed to produce and deliver it, and nothing more.
- Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
- Service providers who host the site and send our email.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies to keep your cart and session working, to remember preferences, and to understand which pages get used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the store and checkout may not work properly if you do.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept as long as Ohio and federal law require. Project files and artwork are kept while the relationship is active and for a reasonable period after, so reprints and revisions are possible. Form submissions we no longer need are deleted. You can ask us to delete sooner — see below.
Your choices
Write to info@smellthesmoke.com and you can ask us to: tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it where we are not required to keep it, or stop marketing email. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, access to order and form data is limited to people who need it, and the site is monitored and patched. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This site is meant for business customers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to info@smellthesmoke.com and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we handle personal information will be made clear on the page.
