The New Year Brand Kit Checklist for Small Businesses
Cards, letterhead, envelopes, notepads and folders: a checklist to start the year with a matched brand kit. Plus 10% off Dec 21 to 27.
The last week of the year is quiet for a lot of small businesses. It is also the best time to look at the pieces that carry your name every day and ask a simple question: do these still look like us?
A brand kit is the set of printed basics that go out with every client meeting, invoice, proposal and thank-you. When they match, your business looks organized and established. When they do not, people notice, even if they could not tell you why. This checklist walks through each piece. And if you are planning a refresh, the timing helps: from Monday, December 21 through Sunday, December 27, 2026, business essentials are 10% off. The discount applies automatically at checkout, and code NEWYEAR10 works too.
Step 1: Audit what you have
Pull one of everything you currently use and lay it out on a table. Then check:
- Is the logo the current version on every piece?
- Are the phone number, email, address and website still correct?
- Do the colors match from piece to piece?
- Are you running low on anything?
- Is anything missing that you keep wishing you had?
Anything that fails one of these goes on your list.
Step 2: The checklist
Business cards (from $25.99)
Still the piece people hold onto. Make sure every team member who meets customers has current cards. If you want something more memorable, finishes range from 14pt matte to soft-touch ($45.99), spot UV ($69.99) and foil ($87.99).
Letterhead (from $45.99)
Letterhead makes quotes, letters, invoices and contracts look official. Keep the design light: logo and contact details at the top or bottom, with plenty of room for the actual content.
Envelopes (from $75.99)
Branded envelopes tell people who the mail is from before they open it. They pair with your letterhead and are a quiet upgrade over plain envelopes for invoices, contracts and client mail.
Note cards (from $29.99)
A handwritten thank-you on a branded note card is one of the simplest ways to make a client feel valued. Keep a stack at your desk so sending one takes less than a minute.
Notepads (from $47.99)
Notepads are useful for you and for clients. Use them in meetings, leave them at the front desk or tuck them into welcome packets. Every time someone grabs one to jot a note, your name is right there.
Presentation folders (from $249.99)
If you send proposals, onboarding packets, listing packets or press kits, a presentation folder pulls everything together and makes it look like one considered package rather than a loose stack of paper.
Step 3: Make it all match
The goal is not just new pieces. It is pieces that clearly belong together. Keep these consistent across the whole kit:
- One logo file. The same version, in the same proportions, everywhere.
- The same colors. Use exact color values, not "close enough."
- The same fonts. Two at most: one for headings, one for everything else.
- The same contact block. Write it once, then copy it exactly onto every piece.
Ordering the whole kit at the same time makes this much easier, since everything is designed and proofed side by side. Our artwork templates have the right sizes and safe areas for each piece, and every print order includes a free artwork review before it goes to press.
Step 4: Start small if you need to
You do not have to replace everything at once. If budget is tight, prioritize the pieces customers see most:
- Business cards.
- Letterhead and envelopes, if you send paper invoices or contracts.
- Note cards for thank-yous.
- Notepads and presentation folders when you are ready.
